Koreatown Youth and Community Center
The Koreatown, Pico-Union & Westlake Rooted Youth Project (KPWR) offers a unique opportunity for youth residents of the communities of Koreatown, Pico-Union and Westlake. This program aims to empower young people by boosting their advocacy, leadership and research skills while connecting them to local green spaces. Youth participants will contribute to creating more urban greenspaces through gardening education. The program spans from March 2024 to November 2024, with in-person meetings on a weekly basis and monthly excursions to local green/natural and cultural spaces. Applicants must live or attend school in Koreatown, Pico-Union or Westlake to qualify. Committed participants will be eligible for a stipend of up to $550 upon successful completion of project activities. Join us on this journey to make a positive impact on our communities!
